dateutils
Submitted by bingomanatee on 6 March, 2010 - 11:44A library for date display. Focused on parsing strings to dates (granular to the day), displaying short forms of day or month names (English only for now) and comparing two dates (again granular to the day.)
This library is pretty "custom" to the way I use dates but it is foundational to the date_index utility

Zupal III
Submitted by bingomanatee on 27 January, 2010 - 12:52I think one of the problems with Zupal is that I started at the domain end instead of looking into the hook system which is at the heart of Drupal.
The hook system is essentially the observer pattern externalized. But to some extent it is lopsy because the event system was applied incompletely. That is: the mechanisms that Drupal itself runs on are not hooks but are task solving PHP blocks.
That is one of the reasons that people still have to write modules in PHP.

He does a great job of voicing the biggest problem with Solar (gaining prospect confidence that they are not pissing money away on green (as in inefficient) tech) -- but the creepy part is the ad.
